The thermal expansion coefficient of PTFE high temperature fabric is not a fixed value. It remains relatively low at room temperature to 100°C (approximately 0.5×10⁻⁵/°C), yet rises sharply under high temperature conditions.

2. Working Principles & Practical Application Significance

● Low thermal deformation principle: The low expansion performance is jointly realized by outer PTFE coating and inner high-strength glass fiber cloth. Glass fiber features an ultra-low thermal expansion coefficient of about 0.5×10⁻⁵/°C, which effectively restrains the overall thermal expansion and contraction.

● Non-linear temperature effect: The dimensional change of PTFE increases obviously with temperature rise. For instance, 1-meter pure PTFE will expand by 1.2 mm when heated from 20°C to 120°C, and the expansion length can reach 6.5 mm when heated up to 320°C. Besides, PTFE has a transition point around 23°C, where its dimensional change rate surges rapidly, which needs special attention in precision industrial applications.

●  Production process requirement: Slow and uniform heating is required during production to balance the huge thermal expansion difference between PTFE coating and glass fiber base fabric, avoiding coating cracking and bubbling caused by internal stress.

In conclusion, low thermal expansion is a core advantage of PTFE high temperature fabric, while its actual expansion capacity increases non-linearly with temperature. Corresponding coefficient data shall be adopted for calculation according to actual working temperature in high-temperature application design.
