This is thanks to polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), the core material, which features ultra-low surface energy and excellent chemical inertness, giving it inherent superior non-stick properties.
Ultra-low surface energy – PTFE’s surface energy is extremely low (approx. 18–22 mN/m), far lower than water (~72.8 mN/m) and other liquids. Liquid droplets bead up and roll off the Teflon surface due to poor wetting, with a contact angle reaching up to 110°.
Chemical inertness – The molecular structure of PTFE is highly stable and hardly reacts with any chemical substances. This stability prevents low-melting-point materials from forming chemical bonds with Teflon.
Despite the excellent non-stick performance of Teflon fabric, the following factors may affect the actual effect and cause temporary adhesion:
Material Purity – High-quality Teflon high-temperature fabric is made of pure PTFE resin with stable performance. Inferior products may contain low-melting-point fillers or impurity resins, which can melt or precipitate at high temperatures, destroying the non-stick property.
Temperature Range – Long-term temperature resistance of Teflon fabric reaches 260°C. If the low-melting-point material far exceeds 260°C, or the fabric operates continuously at extreme temperatures, performance may degrade and adhesion risk increases.
Surface Condition – Physical damage such as scratches and abrasions impairs smoothness, increases contact area and mechanical interlocking points, creating conditions for material attachment.
Static Pressure – Sustained high pressure increases contact area and intermolecular forces (e.g., van der Waals forces). Although most materials can be easily peeled off after cooling, strong physical pressure may cause temporary adhesion.
Note: Even if temporary adhesion occurs, it is usually reversible – the material can be peeled away after solidification.

Food Processing – Oven and baking tray liners to prevent sticking of syrup, caramel, dough, and other food materials.
Textile Printing & Dyeing – Wrapped on guide rollers to avoid adhesion of dyes and sizing agents under high temperature.
Composite Materials – As isolation film in PCB lamination and other processes to prevent resin from sticking to heating plates, enabling easy peeling.
As long as the operating temperature is within the resistance range of Teflon high-temperature fabric (normally ≤260°C), it hardly suffers wetting or adhesion when contacting low-melting-point materials. It is an ideal non-stick isolation material. Choose high-quality products made of pure PTFE resin and avoid scratching the fabric surface during use to maximize non-stick performance. Even under high pressure, any temporary physical adhesion can usually be peeled off after cooling.
