Low Twist

· High Twist: Excessively high twist makes the fabric stiff. Severe friction and internal stress occur during bending, easily causing fiber breakage, crease cracking, and a sharp decline in fatigue resistance.

Besides yarn twist, the following factors also determine the overall performance of PTFE high temperature cloth:

Weave PatternPlain weave features a tight structure that hinders penetration; satin weave is loose and favorable for emulsion infiltration. Twist selection must match the weave structure. For example, satin PTFE cloth can adopt higher twist to control penetration depth.

Fiber DiameterUnder the same mesh count, finer fibers provide more micropores and larger specific surface area, which significantly boost PTFE penetration and bonding performance.

PTFE Emulsion PropertiesParticle size and viscosity directly determine infiltration effects. Emulsions with a particle size of 0.15–0.35µm are widely applied to achieve ideal penetration.

Interface TreatmentSilane coupling agents form a bridging layer between fiberglass and PTFE. Premium interface treatment delivers high peel strength even for shallow surface coating, making up for insufficient penetration.

· For high peel durability: Low twist yarn combined with satin weave is recommended to realize deep coating penetration.

· For high dimensional stability: Medium twist yarn with plain weave and optimized interface treatment is the preferred solution.
