Jiangsu Aokai New Materials – Your Source Factory for Teflon High-Temperature Cloth – explains it all.
High-temperature Teflon tape (commonly known as Teflon tape) is a composite product made of PTFE high-temperature cloth as the base material, coated on one side with imported silicone adhesive. In food baking, confectionery processing and microwave drying applications, the core strength of high-temperature Teflon tape does not lie in being superior in a single indicator, but in achieving a well balanced performance in three key aspects: durable non stickiness, wide temperature range resistance, and exceptional reusability. Below are its irreplaceable advantages in detail.
High-temperature Teflon tape has an extremely low surface friction coefficient of only 0.05–0.1, and its non stick property comes from the PTFE material itself, not from temporary surface coatings.
· Food baking: It can be used repeatedly for releasing biscuits, macarons and bread, with a near 100% intact product rate. By contrast, the silicone coating on oil paper fails after only 1–2 uses, and aluminum foil offers no anti stick performance at all.
· Confectionery processing: It easily releases highly viscous caramel, toffee and syrup. Silicone cloth gradually loses its non stick performance after prolonged use, while oil paper becomes soaked and torn by syrup.
· Microwave drying: As a source factory, Jiangsu Aokai New Materials ensures that its Teflon tape surface is non hygroscopic and non sticking to materials, maintaining continuous cleanliness of conveyor belts.
In comparison, the non stick performance of silicone cloth depends on surface coatings and degrades noticeably after repeated use; oil paper is a single use anti stick material; and aluminum foil, even with an anti stick coating, is easily damaged. High-temperature Teflon tape holds an irreplaceable position in durable non stickiness.
High-temperature Teflon tape operates stably for long periods within a temperature range of -196°C to +260°C, with a short term temperature resistance of up to 350°C. It does not deform, decompose or release harmful substances within this range.
· Food baking: It can be used continuously for thousands of hours below 260°C. Oil paper carbonizes and cracks above 230°C, while silicone cloth hardens and ages under prolonged overheating.
· Confectionery processing: Syrup temperatures often reach 150–200°C, and cooling requires low temperatures down to -30°C. High-temperature Teflon tape seamlessly handles such large temperature fluctuations. Silicone cloth becomes brittle at extremely low temperatures, while oil paper and aluminum foil cannot accommodate both high and low temperatures.
· Microwave drying: Teflon tape barely absorbs microwaves and does not generate heat or degrade in microwave fields. Aluminum foil reflects microwaves and is prohibited; ordinary oil paper may overheat locally due to moisture absorption.
Therefore, the wide temperature range and long term stability of high-temperature Teflon tape are irreplaceable by silicone cloth, oil paper or aluminum foil.
High-temperature Teflon tape offers remarkable durability – it can be reused hundreds or even thousands of times under normal working conditions, with almost no loss of non stick performance after each use.
· Food baking: One roll of high-temperature Teflon tape used as a baking mat replaces hundreds of sheets of oil paper, reduces waste, and is easy to clean with just a damp cloth.
· Confectionery processing: On continuous production conveyor belts, it can run for weeks without replacement. Silicone cloth requires replacement every 1–2 months, while oil paper is replaced dozens of times per hour.
· Microwave drying: It remains dimensionally stable, non absorbent and mold resistant in high temperature, high humidity microwave environments, with a service life far longer than silicone cloth (which absorbs moisture and ages easily).
In contrast: oil paper is essentially single use; aluminum foil can be barely cleaned but cannot be restored to flatness after folding and is also recommended for one time use; the service life of silicone cloth is generally only 1/5 to 1/10 that of high-temperature Teflon tape. For long term operating costs, high-temperature Teflon tape has an overwhelming advantage.
